I would like to welcome Kevin to the Crucial family. Kevin caught my attention at the 2011 Mid West Classic where he came in 5th. Keep an eye out for him cause when it comes to his skills, the sky is the limit.

Darrell couldn’t make it to Worlds this year due to exams, but next year be on the look out for this contender!  Darrell can be seen throwing his signature, the Confection.

Congratulations to Darren for taking for 1st at the competition. Glad to see he’s kicking his 3A game up! Killin em! Darren is throwing a set of Crucial Delicious yoyos and sporting the glow in the dark Crucial drip tee.  If you don’t know, Darren is a World and National spin top champion. His signature spintops is set to release by Worlds in August.

Darrell shows why he’s one of the hottest name in the yoyo world today.  This vide0, which is shot by Singaporeyoing.com, showcases some of Darrell’s new tricks throwing his signature yoyo by Crucial, the confection.  I’m currently also working on version B of the confection.  Featuring a tweaked weight distribution with more rim weight allowing for long spin times for an even nastier throw.  Ver. B will be out early July.

Building a custom yoyo case has been something that I’ve wanted to do ever since I started yoyoing. After over 10 years of yoyoing, I think it’s time to make this happen. At BAC, Alex Kim of RecRev brought out his custom case and it inspired me to finally take on this project. Props homie!

There are two things I wanted to accomplish for this custom case. My first goal is to build a case that can hold 40+ yoyos that I can bring to yoyo competitions to display and sell. To hold this amount, I needed find something big. My second goal is presentation. I wanted to have a case where I didn’t have to do much to the exterior yet look unique and clean.

I started researching for new cases on the web. I searched for custom size cases made specifically for DJ sets and keyboards. I found that these cases were pretty expensive. Some of the ones that caught my eyes were priced in the hundreds which is a little too expensive for the project. After searching on craigslist for several days, I finally found one that met my criteria. I found a keyboard case measuring at 42.5″ x 15.75″ x 6.75″ made by Hybrid Cases. I was able to pick up the case for $50. Although a little dirty, I felt that it had potential for my case project.

This will be a work in progress, so I’ll keep updating up until it is complete. Until then, here are the first looks of the case. Next step, outside restoration.

Jason has done some of the most unique and amazing anodizing jobs I have ever seen on yoyos.  I was ecstatic to see the work done on some of Crucial’s metals.  One word can only describe the results.  Amazing!  Check out the custom Confection and delicious.

Here are some first looks of the prototype for the Milk Shake Offstring yoyo by Crucial.  Still in testing phase.  I still need to make some adjustments to the  mass distribution to get perfect weight and feel.    No set release date, but aiming for June.  Keep checking back for updates.  More photos coming soon of the new bearing system for the Milk shake and future delrin yoyos from Crucial

Even though this years BAC was held over 2 days, it seemed to go by way to fast.  It’s always nice to return up to the bay every around this time.  This would be my 11th consecutive Bay Area Classic.  The skill level at this competition is crazy.  In the past, many of the people who have won a title at BAC go on the winner either Worlds or Nationals.  Lets see if history will play out again at this years major competitions.  Here are some photos I took of my epic weekend.

Here are some new colors to get you hungry.  A couple different acid wash and several splash designs.  I have to say that my favorite is the gunmetal grey with green splash.  Tasty.  The confection features a silicone o-ring response with the Crucial bearing 2 in the center.  Now shipped to stores and should be available online soon.
