Crucial Grooved Bearings…

These are the bearings that are going to come standard in the Heavy Creams and all of my yoyos from now on.  I go through a process of cleaning every bearing  and inspecting that they spin well.  Each bearing comes lightly lubed, with a special light oil blend that I’ve developed from my ten plus years of yoyoing.  I still have 100 more to go!  Back to work.

New Crucial Mascot!

I’d like to introduce the newest family member of Crucial…. “Boogie” aka Boogie Monster. Only 6 months old, he is mixed half Border Collie, half corgi. He has the colors of a Border Collie, yet the body and short legs of a Corgi. It was his last day and I rescued him from the shelter and got him as a gift for my girl for her birthday. Little did I know how lovable this dog can be. His hobbies includes dreaming and being rubbed on the belly. When he’s not dreaming, he likes to wake me up by jumping on me and licking my face. Time to go walk the dog.  womp womp

Spin Top project..

With shipments of the heavy cream version 2 around the corner, I’ve also been busy working on designs for the new delrin spin top. After throwing throwing some thoughts and ideas around, I’m going to start prototyping a spin top with a thrust bearing. Conventional bearing tops uses the same bearings as a yoyo bearing. This works, however the load and force from a top comes from bottom and pointed tip. When ever it is dropped or hits the ground, there’s always a chance for the bearing to break because yoyo bearings are not designed to handle load on the side of the bearing. With a thrust bearing it can handle large axial load. I’ll let you guys know how prototyping goes.

Crucial Turns 28!!

Actually…”Crucial” as a company is about 3 years.  So whats the plan for today…gonna hit up Lil Tokyo with the homies Alex and Richard for some ramen. Later tonight, some sushi with the girlfriend Robyn. Oh…and work on these through out the day…

New colorways for the Heavy Cream.

If you can get your hands on one, you know that the Uni4rm Heavy Cream with its premium package , limited numbers, and price, it’s not for everyone.  If you act fast, there still may be some left at www.uni4rm.com.  Some people may not want to pay the premium price for it, so I decided to introduce a heavy cream for the mass market.  This one wont include the special packaging, tshirt, and extra goodies.  I also eliminated the SPR, did a glass bead finish for ultra smooth grinds, and added a gram to the weight.  Two colors are “Taro” and “Dexter”
